Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement and who we are
“We” and “the shop” mean Collective Detailing, 17835 Sky Park Cir Ste H, Irvine, CA 92614. “You” means the person who books the service or leaves the vehicle with us.
You accept these terms when you book online or by phone, pay a deposit, sign our drop-off form or leave your vehicle with us. If you are not the owner, you confirm the owner has authorized you to approve the work and accept these terms.
All work is done in-shop at our Irvine studio, by appointment, Monday to Sunday, 9am to 7pm.
Terms & Conditions
2. Services, scope and estimates
We offer auto and interior detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating, paint protection film (PPF), window tint and maintenance plans.
Prices. Detailing packages start from $175 (Standard), $325 (Premium) and $895 (Signature), with ranges on our packages page. Paint correction starts from $695 (single-stage) and $995 (multi-stage). Ceramic coating, PPF and tint are quoted per vehicle after inspection. Size and condition set the final price.
Quotes are estimates. A quote becomes firm once we inspect the vehicle. If we find conditions that need more time or product, such as heavy contamination, an old coating or failed film to remove, biohazards (mold, bodily fluids, pests), heavy pet hair or excessive interior soil, we tell you the new price first. We never do extra paid work without your approval. If you decline, we do the original work where still possible, or you can cancel and pay only for work already done.
Consultations and declining. Some services need a consultation before we confirm. We may decline or stop any vehicle or service at our discretion. If we decline before starting, we refund your deposit.
Terms & Conditions
3. Appointments, deposits and cancellations
Booking. All services are by appointment, booked online or by phone. If a deposit is required, your appointment is confirmed once we receive it.
Deposits. Some services require a deposit, applied to your final bill.
Cancelling or rescheduling. Give us at least 24 hours’ notice. With that notice, your deposit moves to your new date. If you cancel inside 24 hours or do not show up, the deposit is non-refundable, because that time was held for your vehicle.
New deposits. If a deposit was forfeited, a new date may require a new deposit, also applied to your final bill.
Late arrivals. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late without notice, we may shorten, reschedule or cancel the appointment as a late cancellation.
If we reschedule. If we move your appointment, your deposit moves to the new date or is refunded, your choice.
Terms & Conditions
4. Drop-off and vehicle condition
Inspection and photos. Before work starts, we inspect and photograph the vehicle and may ask you to initial a condition note. These records show its condition at drop-off.
Pre-existing conditions. We note, and are not responsible for, conditions that existed before service: chips, scratches, dents and curb rash; clear coat failure or thin paint; prior paint or body work; aftermarket parts, wraps and film; loose or damaged trim, emblems and seals; chipped glass; and warning lights. Cleaning can reveal damage that dirt, wax or filler was hiding. That damage was already there.
Tell us first. Let us know about paint repairs, aftermarket electronics, alarms, low ride height or battery problems.
Belongings. Remove all valuables and personal belongings. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items left in the vehicle.
Moving your vehicle. You authorize us to drive the vehicle short distances within our shop and parking area to move, inspect and check it, adding minimal mileage. We do not drive on public roads without your permission.
Timelines. A full detail usually takes 2 to 6 hours depending on the package, ceramic coating 1 to 2 days, PPF front end 3 to 4 days and full-body PPF up to 1 week. Condition, cure time and added work can extend these.
Terms & Conditions
5. Paint correction and ceramic coating
Paint correction. Correction removes a small, controlled amount of clear coat, which does not grow back. On thin, repainted or failing clear coat there is a real risk of haze, burn-through or exposing hidden defects, and aftermarket paint, wraps and previous repairs are more vulnerable during polishing and even cleaning. We point out concerns we see before we start, and by authorizing service you accept this risk. Some defects are too deep to remove safely, and we may leave them partly corrected to protect the clear coat.
Coating results. Coatings and film need proper cure time and maintenance, and results depend on the prep, the paint’s condition, environmental exposure and aftercare. A coating resists light marring, UV and chemicals, but does not prevent chips, scratches, etching or water spots. Small dust particles may occur and are normal within industry standards.
Special surfaces. Soft paints mark easily, even from careful washing. Matte and satin finishes are never polished. Wraps and PPF are cleaned and coated following the film maker’s guidance, and coating over PPF may show at film edges. A coating does not repair lifting film. We note on your work order how these surfaces will be treated.
Terms & Conditions
6. PPF and window tint
Normal with PPF. Visible edges, relief cuts and seams on complex panels, small stretch marks on curves and a slight film texture are normal, as are small dust particles and slight lift lines within industry standards. Bubbles, moisture pockets and haze during the cure period, up to 30 days, are normal and usually clear on their own. Tell us about any that remain after 30 days.
Limits of film. PPF reduces chips and scratches, but large impacts can still damage the film or the paint under it. Self-healing does not repair cuts.
Repainted or damaged panels. Film on repainted or damaged panels is at your risk. Non-factory paint can let film lift, and removing film later can pull that paint. Removing old film or tint can leave adhesive or damage weak paint or defroster lines. We are not responsible for those results.
Tint and California law. California Vehicle Code section 26708 limits film on the windshield and front side windows. We offer shades in line with the law and help you choose, but the final choice is yours, and so is responsibility for compliance and any citation or removal cost. If you ask for a shade darker than the law allows, we install it only after you sign a written waiver accepting full responsibility for compliance, citations and removal. A waiver does not make a non-compliant shade legal. Medical exemptions, and carrying the required documentation, are your responsibility.
Terms & Conditions
7. Warranties, corrections and refunds
Manufacturer warranties. SunTek Ultra PPF carries SunTek’s 10-year warranty against yellowing, cracking and delamination. XPEL Prime XR and Prime XR Plus tint carries XPEL’s warranty, and coatings carry their maker’s. Each passes to you on the manufacturer’s own terms. You register each warranty with its manufacturer; we give you the product, installation date and details you need.
Coating package coverage.
- 3-year Standard: gloss, water beading and resistance to minor chemical contamination for 3 years.
- 5-year Premium: protection against UV damage, environmental contamination and loss of water beading for 5 years with proper maintenance. One complimentary touch-up repair may be included if needed.
- 7+ year Signature: protection for 7 to 10 years depending on maintenance. Annual inspections and proper care are required.
This coverage combines the coating maker’s product warranty with our own promise on the application. It applies only to product defects or improper application, and only with the aftercare in section 8.
Our workmanship warranty. For 12 months after completion, we warrant our PPF, tint and coating installation against installation defects only, such as edge lifting, bubbles that remain after cure, misaligned cuts or coating high spots. We repair or redo the affected area at no charge, at our choice. It does not cover damage, neglect, improper aftercare, automatic brush washes, accidents, work by anyone else on the same area, or normal wear.
Every warranty claim needs an inspection at our shop.
Satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with a service, tell us within 24 hours of completion. We will first try to correct it at no extra charge. Refunds, if any, are at our sole discretion. We do not refund for pre-existing damage or defects, limits set by the vehicle’s condition, improper care after service, expectations beyond what we described before the work, or a change of mind after completion.
Terms & Conditions
8. Aftercare
Not following this aftercare voids our workmanship warranty and the coating package coverage for the affected work, and may void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Terms & Conditions
9. Pickup, storage and abandoned vehicles
Pickup. Please pick up within 24 hours of our notice that the vehicle is ready. After that, storage is $50 per day unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Holding the vehicle. We may keep the vehicle until all charges are paid. California law gives a business that services a vehicle a lien for its work and, in some cases, storage.
Abandoned vehicles. If a vehicle is left more than 7 days after our ready notice with no communication, we may treat it as abandoned and have it towed or stored at the owner’s expense. If charges stay unpaid, we may enforce our lien, including selling the vehicle, under California Civil Code section 3068 and following, after the notice periods California law requires.
Terms & Conditions
10. Payment
When. Payment is due in full when the work is complete, before the vehicle is released, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Methods. Cash, debit and credit cards, Zelle, Venmo and other methods we approve. Card payments include a 3% processing fee, which is shown in your quote.
Returned payments. A returned or reversed payment adds a $25 fee plus any bank charges, and the balance stays due.
Disputes. Contact us first about any charge. If you dispute a card charge, we may share this agreement, photos and records with the card issuer.
Terms & Conditions
11. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid for the service performed.
- We are not responsible for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of use, rental cars, resale value or other financial losses.
- We are not responsible for mechanical or electrical issues we did not cause, including batteries, sensors, warning lights, aftermarket electronics, or water entering through worn seals. We are not responsible for engine bay parts that were already worn or poorly sealed.
- Damage claims must be reported before you leave the facility or within 24 hours of service completion.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our control, such as outages, fire, severe weather or product shortages.
- Your own auto insurance is primary for theft, vandalism, fire, natural disasters and any loss not caused by our negligence while the vehicle is with us.
Nothing here limits liability that California law does not allow a business to limit, such as for fraud, willful injury or gross negligence.
Terms & Conditions
12. Photos and marketing
We photograph and record vehicles before, during and after service for documentation, training and marketing, and may use photos and video on our website, social media and marketing materials, with license plates obscured.
To keep your vehicle out of public posts, tell us in writing, ideally before your appointment. We will stop new public use and remove posts we control where practical. Documentation photos are still taken and kept.
Terms & Conditions
13. Communications and your information
When you book or request a quote, you agree that we may text, call and email you about that service: confirmations, reminders, updates, photos, pickup notices and receipts. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts or HELP for help.
Marketing messages are sent only with your separate consent, which is never a condition of buying. Opt out any time with the unsubscribe link or by telling us.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. We do not sell it.

15. Legal terms
Governing law. California law governs these terms. Any legal dispute will be handled in Orange County, California. Contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
Severability. If any part is found unenforceable, it applies as far as the law allows and the rest stays in effect.
Entire agreement. These terms, your booking confirmation, any written quote and our drop-off form are the whole agreement. A written quote or work order signed by both of us controls where it differs.
Changes. We may update these terms at any time without prior notice. Please review the current version before you book. The version posted when you book applies to that booking.
